Measuring the ankle with a soft tape next to a black Restride sleeve

How to measure for a compression sleeve

A compression sleeve only works if it fits. Too loose and it does nothing. Too tight and it pinches at the ankle. Shoe size doesn't tell you much, because two people with the same shoe size can have very different ankles. One quick measurement fixes that.

What you need

A soft sewing tape. No tape? Use a strip of paper or a phone charger cable, mark where it meets, then lay it flat on a ruler.

How to measure

  1. Sit down and put your foot flat on the floor.
  2. Find the narrowest part of your ankle, just above the ankle bone.
  3. Wrap the tape around it. Snug, not tight.
  4. Read the number where the tape meets.

Restride size chart

Size Ankle (inches) Ankle (cm)
S 6.7–7.5 17–19
M 7.5–8.3 19–21
L 8.3–9.1 21–23
XL 9.1–9.8 23–25

Between sizes?

Size down for firmer support, size up if you have swelling during the day. Measure both ankles and go with the larger one.

If it doesn't fit

Your first size swap is free, and you don't have to send anything back. We'd rather you wear the right size than put up with the wrong one.
